A. Not necessarily. The leak could be due to loose or damaged flashings or possibly a loose or broken tile. If you are experiencing a leaking roof then it is advisable to have it checked out immediately as there could be more underlying problems.
A. A leaking roof isn’t the only reason for replacing a roof. There are any number of reasons why it may be necessary to have a roof replaced. However we would advise against waiting for leaks to appear as you may end up with more damage which could have been rectified earlier.
A. Life expectancy ranges from 5 years to 30 years dependent on the product used and general weather conditions.
A. Chippings or shingle provides protection for the roof from ultra violet radiation as well as providing a decorative finish. They also can reduce problems caused by extremes of temperature.
A. If the chimney requires any maintenance or repair, the best time to work on it is before a new roof is installed. We can survey your chimney and make any repairs. Additionally we can test the performance of your chimney to ensure it is safe and working efficiently.
A. You should clean them at least twice a year. If you have many trees in the area of your home you should clean them 3 to 4 times a year.
